Stephenson Aman was a unique and inspiring community leader who dedicated himself to the young people of Somerville. He survived a tragic early car acident and died by suicide 2 years ago. He was a father, a mentor to many, and friend to all. In his too short life, he served as President of Bunker Hill Community College, President of th Mystic Tenants Association, and candidate for Somerville City Council. Most people called him “Hollywood.”
In his honor in 2022, the Somerville Foundation recognized in his name Sonia Barahona, Fluffy Bergmann, Stephanie Cordova, Jabir Ducasse , Melanie Kessler, Dr. Daniele Lantagne, Andrea Lizama, Milla Maia, Mary Marshall , Heather McCormack, Danny McLaughlin, Diana Posada, Lisa Robinson , Kevin Roy, Beverly Schwartz, and Larry Siraco.
The Foundation is now welcoming nominations of individuals who personify the characteristics that made Steph special: optimism, generosity, friendliness, and hard work:
