The Somerville Foundation honors Stephenson Aman, a cherished member of the Somerville Community. Through collaborations with Somernova & the DOJO, we host the prestigious Steph Aman Awards. This event serves as a platform to recognize and celebrate local leaders in the community, showcasing their invaluable contributions. It stands as a tribute to Stephenson's profound impact and enduring legacy, reflecting the spirit of generosity and community empowerment that he embodied.

Want to recognize an outstanding Somerville community worker? A young adult "Rising Star"? Show some love to those, long time or new, who dedicate themselves to the people of Somerville.
We invite you to nominate those who personify the characteristics that made Steph special: optimism, generosity, friendliness, and hard work.
Stephenson Aman was a unique and inspiring community leader who dedicated himself to the young people of Somerville. Many people called him “Hollywood.” Following his tragic passing , we honor his legacy by recognizing Somerville youth and community workers in Stephenson's name.

He was a father, a mentor to many, and a friend to all. In his too-short life, he served as Student President of Bunker Hill Community College, President of the Mystic Tenants Association, a Director of the Somerville Education Foundation Board, and a candidate for Somerville City Council.
​In his honor in 2022, the Somerville Foundation recognized in his name Sonia Barahona, Fluffy Bergmann, Stephanie Cordova, Jabir Ducasse, Melanie Kessler, Dr. Daniele Lantagne, Andrea Lizama, Milla Maia, Mary Marshall, Heather McCormack, Danny McLaughlin, Diana Posada, Lisa Robinson, Kevin Roy, Beverly Schwartz, and Larry Siraco.
